Delta Air Lines Adds New Nonstop Flight From Boston to Madison for Summer 2026

Travelers flying out of Boston will soon have a faster and more convenient way to reach Madison, Wisconsin, as Delta Air Lines confirms a new nonstop route launching ahead of the Summer 2026 travel season.

The airline announced that it will operate one daily nonstop flight between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Dane County Regional Airport (MSN). The service will be flown using an Embraer E175, a regional jet designed for shorter domestic routes and popular with business and leisure travelers alike.

A Direct Link to One of America’s Most Liveable Cities

Madison is often recognized as one of the most liveable cities in the United States, known for its strong university presence, growing tech sector, and high quality of life. Until now, passengers traveling between Boston and Madison typically had to rely on connecting flights through Midwest hubs, adding time and complexity to the journey.

The new nonstop service is expected to cut travel time significantly, making trips easier for university staff and students, business travelers, and summer tourists visiting Wisconsin’s lakes and outdoor attractions.

Boston Continues to Grow as a Key Delta Hub

The Boston–Madison route is part of Delta’s ongoing expansion at Boston Logan, where the airline has steadily increased domestic and international capacity in recent years. Boston has become one of Delta’s most important focus cities on the East Coast, offering strong demand from both corporate and leisure markets.

By adding point-to-point routes like Madison, Delta is targeting mid-sized cities with stable year-round demand rather than relying solely on large hub connections.

Aircraft Choice Aimed at Comfort and Efficiency

The Embraer E175 selected for the route is configured with a two-by-two seating layout, eliminating middle seats and offering a more comfortable experience compared with larger narrow-body aircraft. The jet is well suited for routes where demand is consistent but does not require high-capacity planes.

Delta has not yet released exact flight timings or ticket sale dates, but the airline confirmed the route will begin ahead of the Summer 2026 season, positioning it well for peak travel months.

What This Means for Travelers

For Boston-area passengers, the new flight offers a simpler way to reach Wisconsin’s capital without long layovers. For Madison, the route provides a direct connection to New England and easier onward access to international destinations through Boston Logan.

Further details, including schedules and fares, are expected to be announced closer to the launch date.
