The temple will remain open until Bhai Dooj, on November 20, 2024, before closing its doors, awaiting the next pilgrimage season in 2024.

Preceding the temple opening, a sacred procession known as the Chal Vigraha Doli carries the idol of Lord Kedar from Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath to Kedarnath. This procession, rich in tradition and symbolism, sees the idol worshipped at various stops along the way before reaching its final destination.
- May 5, 2024: Worship of Lord Bhairavnath at Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath.
- May 6, 2024: Departure of the Panchmukhi Bhogmurti of Lord Kedarnath to Guptkashi.
- May 7, 2024: Departure from Guptkashi to FATA.
- May 8, 2024: Departure from FATA to Gaurikund.
- May 9, 2024: Arrival of the Panchmukhi Doli at Kedarnath Dham in the evening.
- May 10, 2024: The auspicious opening of Kedarnath Temple at 7:00 AM.
